11 Months

You are 11 months old today, Paislee. That means in one short month I will be the owner of a TODDLER!  I can't believe how fast this year has gone by, sweet baby girl. It makes me so sad that you are getting so big, but so glad that you are healthy and beautiful and sweet as can be!

You are on your last box of size 3 diapers, they are not fitting so well anymore :( You are growing much faster than I anticipated and I am worried that all of the summer clothes I have bought you are not going to fit you by the time summer rolls around. If we lived in NC where summer comes sooner--they would. Maybe we should spend the summer in NC? :) You are wearing size 12m and 18m clothes right now, and your shoe size is a 4.

Since my last monthly update you have gone from taking zero steps to WALKING ALL OVER THE PLACE! You took your first steps on January 28th, 3 days after you turned 10 months old, and you were walking all over the place by Valentine's Day. Crawling will soon be a memory, as your primary way of getting around is walking, you only crawl when you can't fit into tight spaces ;)

You are such a talker! Let's see if I can remember all of the words you are saying: Hey, Bye Bye, MaMa, DaDa, MeMe, Kitty, Meow, Baby, Ball, Banana (Nana), Mooooooooo! (Cow), Wow!, Bubbles, Dog, Duck, Bath.....I think that's it? You are getting to the point where you can repeat almost anything we say--you little Parrot! My mom says this is payback because I was a big talker and told everything to everyone when I was little, but I like it :)

You still aren't a great eater, but you are getting better! We discovered that you LOVE macaroni and cheese and for a few days you ate it up, then you realized how to suck the cheese off the noodles and spit the noodles out. Ugh! You still eat your vegetables pretty good, but not great.

In the beginning of February you went to the grocery store with me and daddy and daddy showed you the bananas. By the time we left all you could say was "Nana! Nana!". You kept saying it after we got home so the next time I went to the store I got you some Nana's to see if you would eat them. Of course you wouldn't but you did carry it around with you alllll day long until it was brown and mushy! Finally I threw it away when you weren't looking, but I felt terrible because every time we walked through the kitchen you looked for it and ask for it. So, I went to Walmart and bought you a plastic Nana. You were SO happy and carried it around for days. You don't carry it around with you as much now, but you still ask for it and point it out when you see it.

Your fake banana....

Your real banana :)

Your sleep schedule is pretty dependable, but you aren't sleeping as well as I would like. You nap 2 times a day, morning and late afternoon, and you are usually ready for bed by 10, which is fine with me. You aren't sleeping well at night though. And I know this because, YES, you are still sleeping with us. Well me, because daddy has been away a lot this month with work. You wake up all through the night and sit up and start talking then you fall back down because you are SO tired. HA! It is pretty funny but not when I am trying to sleep :) You are usually awake by 7:30 most mornings, but SOMETIMES you let me sleep till' 8 or so ;) I am being told by numerous people that I HAVE to get you into your crib. Daddy really isn't pushing it much, although I know he wants to have his space at night, but he knows it is hard for me. You keep me company when he is gone, and I like having you in my bed because I know you are safe. Hopefully soon though I can get tough and get you in your crib :( :).

You are into EVERYTHING and you get SO mad when I pull you away from something you are not supposed to be into. You're goal every day is to get into the laundry room, where the cat food and litter box is. I close the door when I see you head that way and you throw a FIT! You also love to go into cabinets and have recently started gaining interest in the toilet. Daddy caught you about a second before you stuck your hands in the toilet a few weeks ago :) You like to play with electrical outlets that are being used and you like to push your luck and see how far we will let you stick your hands in the trash can, too. While you are doing these things you are saying "No no!". It's so hard to get on someone SO cute but tough love is best, baby!

We love you so much and are savoring these last moments with you as our 'baby' girl! Although you will soon be 'Miss Independent' you will always be my baby girl--no matter how old you get! Happy 11 Month Birthday, sweet baby girl!

XOXO,

10 Months

I can't believe you are already 10 months old! You weigh ~21 pounds and are 29 inches long. You are wearing size 12 month clothes and size 3 diapers. Can we stop time for a while? I'm not ready for my baby girl to be 1!!!

You are into EVERYTHING! Everything you are not supposed to be into at least. You go into any cabinet that you see and pull everything out of it. We have baby proofed most of the cabinets in the house but sometimes I will open them and let you play with pots and pans. I can't resist that perfect face :) You also love to play in the blinds at the sliding glass door, and will sit there for a good 10-20 minutes just playing. Your favorite place of all though, is the baby gate at the bottom of the stairs. You want me to leave it open for you and you swing on it! Little monkey!

You are just the smartest thing, I can't believe you are MINE! I am wondering if it is a normal thing for you to be talking so much at your age. You say: ma ma, da da, kitty, bye bye, heyyyyyyy, baby, ball, duck, dog, more and meow (MOW!!!!). And you know what they all mean, if I ask you to get your duck or baby or ball--you will find it and get it! And anytime you see a baby, whether its a cartoon, a real baby, a picture or a doll you say "Baby!!!!". I love it and I just can't get enough!!!

You are THIS close to taking your first step. You have started standing up with no help, and are really thinking about taking a step. Your Grandma Jan (Me Me) is coming up this week for your Dedication at church, and she swears she will have you walking before you leave....yeah yeah Me Me, we'll see!

Your sleeping is pretty regular and dependable now. You go to bed between 9:30-11:00 and wake up around 9:00 am either way. You take 1-2 naps a day, usually an hour or so a piece.

You are getting a little better at eating solid foods. We pretty much just give you some of what we are having every night unless it's something you can't have or I can't adapt to fit your needs--then I boil some potatoes and you eat them pretty well. :) You love cheerios too!

You have the brightest personality! Also the strongest, most stubborn. You are my little 'mini me' that's for sure! You are so happy as long as you are getting your way, and you squeal a LOT! I was talking to your Aunt Heather earlier and she said you sounded like one of those tropical birds squawking! haha :)

Well, we are down to the last couple of months of your first year. It has flown by and it can slow down, anytime! I am still preparing for your royal birthday party, it's going to be extra extravagant ;)

I love you little Princess!

9 Months

Paislee, you are 9 months old today and oh yeah, MERRY 1st CHRISTMAS! Your 8 month birthday fell on Thanksgiving, and your 9 month birthday falls on Christmas--how fun is that?!? :)

Oh my goodness girl, you have changed SO MUCH this month! You are ALL OVER THE PLACE! You are constantly on the go, I have to keep a close and constant watch over you, and can't get anything done! You have become a really good and fast crawler, and you like to pull up on everything that you can. You fall a lot--and hit your head quite often too. I hate it--you hitting your head so much, but I can't stop you from standing up all the time, and I would feel bad trying to make you since that's how you learn, so I just try my best to catch you when you fall. You are also my personal little human vacuum cleaner! You pick up anything you can find and it goes right to your mouth. You have even started 'pretending' to pick things up and eat them, I guess to get a reaction out of me. Little turd. Wish you were that good at eating things I actually GIVE you to eat. We still aren't having much luck with that. We completely gave up on baby food, and are now giving you diced vegetables, mainly carrots and green beans, and some cooked apples. You also snack on 'puff puffs'--veggie dip flavor, and cheerios. You love snacks the best, you really don't care for food.

Your bedtime has changed, and not because I wanted it too. You have decided that you would rather go to bed between 10-12 instead of 7-9. The good part about that is that you sleep until after 9 most mornings. The bad part is that I am usually ready for bed before you are!

You are starting to make me wish I had been nicer as a little girl, I think I am getting payback for my brattiness now ;) You have got a STRONG personality, little girl. You have the attitude of a 16 year old, and you are stubborn and strong willed! I told your daddy that we wouldn't have anything to worry about when we get older because you will be a lawyer and will be able to take good care of us :)

You can stop growing so fast any day now. Before we know it, you will be doing everything on your own, and won't want mine or daddy's help for anything. Like I said, slow down :) We love you sweet girl. Merry Christmas and Happy 9 Month Birthday!

8 Months

Happy Thanksgiving!

Paislee Marie, you are 8 months old today! You weigh 19.3 lbs, and you are 27.5 inches long. You are still wearing mostly 9 month clothes, most 12 months are too LONG! You are still in size 3 diapers.

Girl, you have been on the MOVE this month! You have gone from rolling, rolling, rolling to crawling! You started crawling on November 23rd, and now you are all over the place! The biggest surprise this month was you pulling yourself up to standing. You just decided you would do it one day, and surprised us! You are also STUBBORN as a mule. Where did you get that from?? You aren't eating solids very well anymore, and I'm starting to get a little concerned. I don't know if this is okay or not? I sit you down for lunch and dinner and at least TRY to get you to eat baby food, diced peaches, mandarin oranges--anything! You just don't care for it. Your naps have dwindled down to 2-3 times a day, 30 minutes a piece. Lucky me! This means a very fussy baby come bedtime. You fight sleep too, so bad! When I finally do get you to sleep at night, you usually sleep about 12 hours, so that's nice! You still wake up in the middle of the night to eat, but since you are sleeping with us (ahem), it's no big deal. You do have to get in your crib soon though. I am praying that the Lord will give me strength to do that. You have started getting very mad when we take things away from you. I know that is a normal milestone and a good sign of development, but it's hard not to worry that you are going to be very hard to get along with. I pray every day that you will be a sweet girl, and a very caring and selfless one too! What more could a mama ask for?

You talk a lot too! You say "ma-ma" "da-da" and "bye-bye". You also growl back at me when I growl at you. You are going to have such a personality! You have also started dancing and clapping your hands, which is my FAVORITE! I can't get enough of it! You dance most of the time when you hear music and you clap randomly and when I say "yayyyyyyy!!!!".

This month has been a tough month. For whatever reason you have been super cranky. At first I hoped it was teething just so you would have an excuse but you have shown NO signs of teething. I haven't been able to leave your side without you crying and you want to be held a lot. You have also developed a little attitude! When can we start the disciplining? If we don't start soon, I think we might have a little problem! ha! We still love you baby girl!

Ashley

7 months

Paislee Marie, you are seven months old, and it has been the best (and most tiring) seven months of my life.

You weigh ~19 lbs. You are in size 3 diapers, and wear 9 & 12 month clothes. You're a little ham!

You are such a happy baby and you are constantly making me laugh. You are also very spoiled and make me want to kick myself and cry sometimes too ;0) You have recently become VERY clingy, making it hard to be away from you for a second (not that I want to be away from you). Sometimes you cry when I walk out of the room! Scratch that, MOST of the time. You're a mamas girl and I will take advantage of that for as long as I can, and I can only hope that it will last forever!

You are starting to become very mobile and it scares the crap out of me. You have been sitting on your own for months now, but now you are rolling around to get to where you want to go. On the way there, you stop anytime you see anything that could possibly fit in your mouth, and you go to town on it! You are also interested in little balls of lint and pieces of paper. Looks like mama will be needing a new vacuum!

You love to be entertained with funny faces and noises, and you're starting to mimic things that I do. Yesterday, I clapped my hands and said "yayyyyyyyy" and you copied me! I love watching you grow and learn new things every day, and I can't wait to watch you develop into a lovely young lady, but not too fast!

You don't really eat baby food anymore, you don't like it. Instead I feed you any vegetables that you can eat from my plate, and you seem to like it much better!

You sleep 10-12 hours at night, most of the time going to bed at 8:00, and waking up at 7:30. Lately you have been waking up a little earlier than I would like though ;0)

You have started drinking from a sippy cup, but only water. When you realize it's milk--you spit it out.

It has been a busy month for us! Daddy had to go away for work, so you and I flew down to North Carolina to visit family this month. You did great on the plane, and I hope I can say the same thing after we get back to Maine next week! Usually you are fine as long as you have mama and as long as you're being held ;0) I know your daddy can't wait to see you and how much you have grown!

I love you very much little girl!

6 Months

Paislee Marie, you are SIX months old today!

I never thought I would make it this far alive, ha! In the beginning, everyone was just telling me to get through the first 3 months and everything would be okay, and it was! And since then, the months have FLOWN by! I can barely keep up!

You weigh 18.6 lbs, and you are still wearing a size 2 diaper, although I have started buying size 3 because they are much easier to get on your squirmy booty ;o) You are wearing mostly size 9 month clothes, but you can wear some 12 months too!

Your sleeping habits were GREAT there for about a week... and then they got all outta whack! You were sleeping a solid 12 hours at night for a week or so, now you go to bed anywhere between 7-10 at night, but no matter what-you are up and at em' at 7 a.m...... and I don't like it! What happened to the 12 hour thing? If you go to bed at 10, do me a favor and get up at 10, will ya? Mama needs some sleep! You are still taking 2-3 naps a day, ranging anywhere from 30 minutes a piece, up to 3 hours! (Usually 45 minutes though).
You love sitting in your highchair to play!

You are still breast feeding, and would prefer to eat every 2 hours, but you can go about 4 hours without eating before you get really grumpy! You like to nurse to sleep as well, but I don't count that, because it's a bad habit and it's all my fault, that we have to stop!.... not everyone can nurse you to sleep, which means you give anyone that isn't mommy a hard time when they try to put you to sleep. Oops! You are still only eating 1 solid meal a day, at supper time, and it's always a vegetable. Your new vegetables this month were sweet potatoes and corn mixed, and mixed garden vegetables. Your favorites are still carrots and squash. I plan to start to give you solids twice a day very soon, I just have to figure out how. You won't eat fruits at all, you gag and I'm scared you're going to throw up, and it just doesn't seem right to feed you veggies for breakfast....? I have started giving you some finger foods and biter biscuits, and you seem to be interested in them... in fact, TOO interested. You want to BITE them instead of suck on them, and it freaks me out. I have a feeling you will like big people food MUCH better than you like little people food, and I can't wait to be able to feed you everything that I eat!

You are the happiest little baby I have ever seen, and everyone you meet seems to agree! You love to laugh and smile and giggle and scream, and you don't care where you are, or who is around. You scream at the top of your lungs a LOT, and I'm worried the neighbors aren't going to like us too much. You were also saying 'ma-ma' for about a week, all day long--daddy didn't like it too much and I think he bribed you or something because you don't say it anymore :o( You do love to laugh at daddy though, even if you didn't say 'da-da' first. He is the best at making you laugh, probably because he is so funny looking goofy ;o)

We started going to a new church this month and everyone brags about how good you are every Sunday. They say "that is the best baby in the world!" and "You wouldn't even know she was in there if you didn't see her, she is so good!". Probably because it's your nap time, but we won't tell them that ;o) You DID toot last week in church, but I think it was daddy and he just tried to blame you.

Ready for church!

You are sitting up perfectly now, all the time. You hardly ever fall over unless you are chasing a toy. It's nice because I can sit you on the floor surrounded by 5,000 toys, and you will entertain yourself for quite some time so I can get things done! Sometimes I will come in the room and you will be 5 feet from where I sat you down, but not because you crawled! Nope, I think you will be a late crawler--I'm calling it now. You can roll though!

We are going home to North Carolina for the whole month of October to visit with your family, daddy is hoping you don't grow as fast as you did this last month or he may not recognize you when we come home. Your Grandma Jan is so excited to see you, she even has a walker for you so you can run all over the house--I can't wait!

Happy half-a-year birthday!
WE love you little girl! You bring so much happiness into our lives every day, and we don't know how we ever lived without you!

XOXO,

5 Months--Oops! Late!

So so sorry Miss Paislee! I am a little late posting your 5 month birthday blog! It has obviously been a super busy summer, and I feel really guilty that this is late, but all that matters is that I am still posting :o) Right?

Paislee, I'm not too sure how much you weigh right now, because we are living in a hotel room right now and I don't have a scale, but I am guessing between 16-17 lbs! I won't even try to guess how long you are, because I really don't have a clue--but you are growing like a little weed! You have almost outgrown all of your 6 month clothes, and you are now wearing 9 month and even 12 month clothes. I am hoping that you will wear 9 months through the fall, and 12 months through the winter (because that's what I have been buying). You are still wearing size 2 diapers, but I have a feeling that this last box I just bought will probably be the last of that size! Please stop growing so fast, it makes me so sad to pack up your clothes. I just hope I can give you a little sister one day, so you can not only boss her around and play school with her, but to also pass down all of your SWEET clothes to since you didn't wear them enough ;o)

You have changed SO much in the past month. It is doing you so much good to be around different people every day, a HUGE change from when we lived in Alaska and all you ever saw was me and daddy. You are developing a sweet little personality, and you are such a happy baby! You love to squeal and laugh--a LOT! You are also starting to yap yap yap--move your mouth a LOT when you talk, I LOVE IT!

You have recently started drinking water, which you love (like mama). You first started opening your mouth and reaching for my cup when you saw me drinking it, now you get excited and just about jump out of my arms when you see me pick up a cup. You even drink from a straw--you don't suck it up the straw, but I get some in the straw and put it in your mouth--you love it and would drink it all day if I would let you! (Edit: I have been working on this post in my free time over the past week--yesterday, we went to lunch at Longhorn Steakhouse, and I just put the straw in her mouth for laughs, and she slurped the water up the straw!!! I screamed because it scared me, I didn't expect it, and she got a big ol' mouthful and wasn't expecting it herself, ha!)

You are getting better every day with your solids. You have had: bananas, sweet potatoes, carrots, apples, green beans, peaches and squash. Your favorite is green beans, by far! You LOVE them! Next I think we will try peas since you seem to like your greens (tried them earlier this week--not a success. Neither were the peaches) You still only eat solids once a day, before your nightly bath. I'm not too sure when I'm supposed to give you solids twice a day? I'm new at this parenting thing ;o)

You are now sitting by yourself! I think its a little early for you to be sitting?? You have fallen forward and bumped your head a few times, but now you are staying up for the most part! You are also rolling over both ways, but mostly from your back to your tummy. When you are on your tummy you pull your feet up under your knees, and it makes me cringe, because I know that you will be crawling VERY soon and I am not quite ready for that! Time to baby proof!

We are NOW in our new home, living in Falmouth, Maine. We have a 2 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom townhouse. Your nursery is in the study for now, it isn't very big, but big enough for all of your furniture. We wanted to leave the spare bedroom open, since we are living so close to 'home' now, we are expecting lots and LOTS of visitors ;o).

We haven't been posting your monthly pictures on the blog, pointing it out in case you haven't noticed. Our card reader broke and we haven't had a chance to get a new one yet. We have been taking the monthly pictures still, and hope to get them all uploaded before your 1st birthday! :o)

We love you little girl, more and more everyday!

XOXO,

4 months

Paislee Marie, you are four months old today!

I can't believe how fast you are growing! You weigh 15 pounds, and you are 25 inches long. You are wearing size 2 diapers, and mostly 6 month clothes.

As you (and everyone else) may have noticed, there isn't much time to blog these days! You keep me busy busy! We are in the middle of moving from Alaska to Maine, and right now we are in North Carolina meeting and visiting family. I promise I'll blog more when you let me!

I am loving your little personality more and more everyday! You are such a happy little girl! As long as everything is going exactly how you want it to go ;0). You are starting to laugh and squeal a lot, it is so stinkin' cute! I think you were getting tired of seeing just me and daddy everyday. You seem to be learning much faster now that you meet someone new almost everyday.

You are now eating a few solids almost everyday. We started you at the beginning of the month on a little bit of cereal mixed with milk every few days because you started acting super hungry...I think it was a growth spurt because now you seem perfectly satisfied with just milk. We are still giving you cereal every night before bathtime, just to get you used to solids, and we even started mixing bananas in. You have also tried sweet potatoes and carrots. You don't seem to be interested though, mommy is still your best bud for now :0) Don't worry, I'm gonna take advantage for as long as I can! Speaking of, you still won't take a bottle! I don't think it's because you don't know how, I think it's because you don't want to! You are a stubborn little turd! We are now starting to work with you and a sippy cup, maybe you will take that instead? We are hoping you give in soon, we would like to take an overnight trip for our anniversary in a few weeks....please?? You have recently started taking a pacifier so we are hoping that will lead to a bottle soon!

You are getting better at not being held 24/7. You play on your little play mat, in your exersaucer, and most recently in your new jumperoo (you love it!). You love laying on your back and holding your feet! I've even caught you sucking your toes a few times, ha! I love watching you hold your feet, it's too cute!
You are also sitting very well, with a little help, and standing with help too! Over the last few days you have even been reaching for cups and opening your mouth to drink from them.

Today we went to the pool for the first time and you loved it! Looks like we have a little water baby on our hands!

Your sleeping habits are getting pretty regular now. You are asleep every night usually by 9, and you are only waking up once between then and 7am when you wake up :0) You take two naps a day, in the morning and afternoon, usually 2-3 hours each. You are finally letting us put you down to sleep, so now it's time to work on getting you in the crib!

You are growing so fast, I can't believe it. I'm so thankful your daddy works hard so I can stay home with you and not miss anything. We love you so much, more and more everyday, and can't wait to see all of the new things you learn over the next month!

XOXO,
Ashley

2 Months

Paislee Marie, you are 2 months old today! Time is flying by so fast I can't believe it! You weigh 12 lbs. even, and are 23 inches long. You are already wearing size 2 diapers! They are a little big on you, but we like em that way! You are still wearing mostly size 0-3 months clothes, 3-6 months are a little big on you!

You are still eating every 2 hours, but sometimes you will go 3 hours during the day when you have a long nap. You usually wake up around 3 a.m. for a feeding, and then again between 6 and 7. They say that breast feeding babies usually don't sleep through the night until they are sometimes 6 months old!

You still sleep a lot during the day. Most days you nap, wake up to eat and go right back to sleep. You usually come around between 4 and 6, and are awake for most of the night until 10 or 11. I know, I'm bad for letting you stay up so late.

You get a bath every night, usually no later than 7. You LOVE bath time! You're my little water baby! You just sit and relax while I wash you, and we always listen to music, which you love. You prefer the music on my iPod over nursery rhymes and lullabies :o) I downloaded some kids music for you, but you seem to like my country and pop MUCH better!

You will sit in your swing sometimes so I can get things done around the house,  but you like to keep me in your sight! You also like to listen to my music while you sit in your swing! Loud noises don't bother you, in fact, I think you prefer them! You sleep right through the vacuum!

You are getting used to your car seat, so trips to town are getting less painful (for mommy!). We always make sure you are fast asleep before we go to the grocery store though! We keep you in your car seat, and completely covered while we are in the grocery store (trying to keep people germs away from you), but that doesn't stop people from hovering and wanting to see you! The other day a woman came over and said "She is SO FREAKING CUTE!!!!" Daddy and I said "We know" thank you :o)

You are starting to coo a lot and talk to me. I love it! I try to catch you on video, but you seem to be camera shy you little turd! I did catch you last night on camera, with your new found love--your hand in your mouth! You are finally figuring out how to suck on them fingers, you've been trying since the day you were born!

We are having one problem--you sleep with us, and there is no end in sight. I know, I should have never let you in the bed with us, but that's what happens when Mommy is desperate for sleep! Now, you have to be RIGHT on me, probably smelling my morning breath! If I get up, you open your eyes to see what's going on...what am I going to do with you???? I'm afraid Daddy is going to get rid of us if something doesn't change SOON!

You are growing too fast little girl, I wish you would slow down! I don't care what people say, I'm going to hold you all I want, because now I'm realizing that you really won't be like this much longer and I'm going to miss it! We can't wait to get home so we can show you off to your family and our friends!

**I am going to wait on your 2 month pictures since your perfectionist daddy is gone this week and he won't be satisfied with anything short of perfect ;o) We love you very much, more and more every day! I can't wait to see how much (not too much!) you grow this next month, and all of the new things you will learn!

XOXO,

1 Month

Paislee Marie, you are 1 month old today.
You weigh around  11 lbs. and are 22 in. long.

Look at Sesi, ha!

You have been a little diva angel these past few weeks!
You already have me wrapped around your finger. Big time. I hate to hear you cry and pick you up the minute that you start.

You have good days and bad days, and they usually alternate from day to day.

On your good days, you sleep almost all day long, and all night long. When I say that you sleep all night long, that means you sleep from about 11-12 until 4-5, making me one happy Mama! It's amazing how well rested I feel after more than 3 straight hours of sleep!

On your bad days, you are awake almost all day long, and by the end of the day you are exhausted. You are fighting sleep by this point and usually spend hours fussing, making me wonder if you are hungry, gassy, sick, hot, cold, constipated, etc. and sometimes I end up crying with you before it's all said and done.

Whether we have had a bad night or a good night, either way you wake up just as happy as can be. Mornings are my favorite time of the day, I guess that's why I don't mind getting up so early! You are so content in the mornings, sometimes I will bring you in the bed with me and snuggle with you while you grunt and groan trying to wake up. When you finally do wake up you give me this look like I am your best friend in the whole wide world and it melts my heart every single time.

Bath time is usually pretty good for you. I am still giving you sponge baths the majority of the time, but you get a bath in your bathtub 1-2 times a week too. You seem to like your bathtub, you just lounge in the warm water (and sometimes pee in it!) Either way, you do not like when it's time to wash your hair. You cry every time. Too bad though, Mama ain't having a stinky baby :o)

You are eating every 1-2 hours. We are still breastfeeding, and sometimes I pump and give you a bottle, just because I am curious to see how much you are eating. Once it was 4 oz, another time it was 2 oz, so it still isn't 100% clear how much you are getting at every feeding, but it is 100% clear that you are a HEALTHY baby :o)

You're a messy eater! This is what you look like after most feedings :o)

You only poop about once a week, and this really bothers me! The doctor said it was okay, and normal but I really don't like it. I think it makes you extra gassy, and EXTRA stinky! You can clear out a room with your man farts :o) Sometimes I even have to ask your Daddy if that poot was you or him because it's kinda hard to tell, ha!

You have a fussy time most nights, usually anywhere between 6 and 8, and you are pretty inconsolable. It's pretty nerve racking, but we get through it and eventually you fall asleep.

You are smiling more and more every day and I loooove it :o) You have such a pretty smile! Mostly you smile when someone talks to you, and you also smiled the other day when I was tickling your feet with my teeth, you have stinky feet already :o)
You have your daddy's long eyelashes, and his mouth. I can't figure out what is mine yet, but you got your chubby cheeks honestly--from both of us!

You are quite a handful. Literally. You like to be held a LOT. If it were up to you, which it pretty much is at this point, you would be held all day long, and you pretty much are. I can put you in your bassinet or your swing and you will sleep for 10-15 minutes, but then you are grunting and eventually crying to be picked up. Luckily, we have a Baby Bjorn and I can put you in that and you love it. You will sleep for hours in it, pretty much until I wake you up because I'm worried you will sweat to death, but its the only way I can get anything done!

Naptime with Daddy is your favorite!

You went on your first road trip this month. We went to Anchorage for a shopping trip, You, Me, Daddy & Grandma Jan. You did very good during the day, sleeping most of the day and waking up for feedings every two hours, but this is when we discovered your fussy time. I think you were just tired of being in the carseat all day. We hope you continue to be a good little traveler, we have a big road trip planned for you in a few months, missy!

Here you are laying in the bed during your first stay at a hotel!

The mohawk is your hairstyle of choice these days
You're a very pretty girl!

Our lives have changed a LOT this month! You are a lot of work, and require lots and lots of attention, but you are worth it! We love you very much and cannot wait to watch you grow more and more every month, but not too fast!

Disclaimer: I know this is a day late, and yesterday was actually Paislee's '1 month Birthday'--a great example of how life with a newborn is, you never know what you're gonna get! I actually had this typed up yesterday, but wanted to wait until I could take her 1 month picture. I had very good intentions and meant to take it today, but its hard when you don't want to wake her up because she is sleeping so well, and then she gets fussy towards the end of the day so you can't get a good picture then, and by the end of the night its bathtime and bedtime--maybe tomorrow!

0 Months

I know probably everyone that follows my blog also follows Kelly's Korner, and has seen how she does a post every month for Harper's 'Birthday'. I really like that idea and think it's a great way to keep up with how she is growing from month to month. So I decided to copy Kelly and do a monthly 'Birthday' post for my sweet girl :o)

Jodi sent me an e-mail one day showing me these SUPER cute monthly stickers that you can stick onto a onesie and take pictures for every month, so I decided to order them for my Birthday posts--hey, might as well go all out, right? Just look at them, could you resist or is it that little girl modeling them that makes them so irresistible?
So here goes nothing.

Paislee Marie: You are 0 months old. Ha! Really, you are 2 weeks old today, but they didn't have a sticker that says '2 weeks' so we will stick with 0 months :o)

On the day you were born you weighed 8 lbs. 15.1 oz. and were 21.5 inches long.
Yesterday at your 2 week checkup you weighed 9 lbs. 6 oz. and were still 21.5 inches long.
You are the most perfect little thing that me and your Daddy have ever laid our eyes on.
You have a beautiful complexion, definitely not the complexion of a newborn.
Your eyes are a dark color that I'm going to call blue for now, but we all know that they won't be that way for long :o)
You were born 'tongue tied' and weren't able to stick your tongue out or eat very well. We had that fixed when you were 2 days old, and you have been happy as can be ever since!
Your feeding schedule varies, sometimes you are hungry an hour after your last feeding, sometimes its 5 hours or more before you will eat again--and trust me, I try to force you--but you are stubborn like your Mama! Either way, you end up feeding about 10-12 times per day.
You only eat for about 5-10 minutes per feeding. I worried that you weren't getting enough at first, but after you gained more than a pound in less than a week, my worries disappeared :o) You're my little piggy!
You are still sleeping a lot during the day, but you have become more alert and are staying awake more and more every day. We give you a bath almost every night, and feed you right afterwards so you will know that it's time for bed! You are usually ready for a feeding around midnight, and after that you usually sleep until 4 a.m. or so! After that feeding I usually stay up with you until 6 or 7, and then let your Grandma take a shift so I can sneak in a couple more hours of sleep with Daddy--who has been sleeping through everything! Sometimes when I am up feeding you at 4 in the morning I look over at him snoring and want to strangle him :o)
We have a rule around the house that whoever is holding you when you drop a bomb has to change you.  Good rule, huh? Most of the time you get your Grandma pretty good :o) You fart like a little man, I wonder who you get that from? ;o) We will blame it on Daddy!
I have been having a hard time getting you to burp after you eat, and lately you have been throwing up after feedings, like BIG TIME throwup--every time it's on Daddy. I don't know if you are eating more than your little tummy can hold, or if he is squeezing you too tight, but I wish you would stop and I'm sure he does too!
Speaking of, I think the nurses at the hospital probably think we are crazy. We call them all the time, over every little thing. Your umbilical cord stump fell off early and bled a little bit and I was so worried about it. I made Daddy call over that, and over a rash that you had, and I almost made him call over the throwing up but I changed my mind. It is SO hard having to worry about keeping you safe! I worry myself sick over the smallest thing, and even though I know it will drive a person to insanity, I google everything too! I just want the best for you :o) I'm not crazy, really.
You are a lot of work! You are a GREAT baby, the best I could have ever asked for, but being a parent is tough. Everyone warned me that it was hard, and I knew it would be, but it's hard to imagine exactly how hard it is until you are holding that sweet little baby in your arms and feeling a love like you have never felt before. You will understand one day! (A long, LONG time from now!)

I was on my friend Lauralee's facebook page the other day and saw this quote:

Making the decision to have a child is momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body. - Elizabeth Stone

I love it, so true!
That is all for now. I could write for days and days, but you might get tired of reading this one day :o) I love you little girl!

XOXO,
