A look back...

I am SOOOOOO glad that we took videos after Paislee was born. We didn't get her birth on video, and none of my pregnancy either (I wish we had, and we will next time), but we make SURE to get every moment that we can on video because the time passes way too fast and we will never get these precious moments back :o( Here is a video from shortly after she was born, I think she was a month old, but she seems so much younger! Kind of boring if you aren't me, because nothing exciting happens--just love that sweet little face!

6 Months

Paislee Marie, you are SIX months old today!

I never thought I would make it this far alive, ha! In the beginning, everyone was just telling me to get through the first 3 months and everything would be okay, and it was! And since then, the months have FLOWN by! I can barely keep up!

You weigh 18.6 lbs, and you are still wearing a size 2 diaper, although I have started buying size 3 because they are much easier to get on your squirmy booty ;o) You are wearing mostly size 9 month clothes, but you can wear some 12 months too!

Your sleeping habits were GREAT there for about a week... and then they got all outta whack! You were sleeping a solid 12 hours at night for a week or so, now you go to bed anywhere between 7-10 at night, but no matter what-you are up and at em' at 7 a.m...... and I don't like it! What happened to the 12 hour thing? If you go to bed at 10, do me a favor and get up at 10, will ya? Mama needs some sleep! You are still taking 2-3 naps a day, ranging anywhere from 30 minutes a piece, up to 3 hours! (Usually 45 minutes though).

You love sitting in your highchair to play!

You are still breast feeding, and would prefer to eat every 2 hours, but you can go about 4 hours without eating before you get really grumpy! You like to nurse to sleep as well, but I don't count that, because it's a bad habit and it's all my fault, that we have to stop!.... not everyone can nurse you to sleep, which means you give anyone that isn't mommy a hard time when they try to put you to sleep. Oops! You are still only eating 1 solid meal a day, at supper time, and it's always a vegetable. Your new vegetables this month were sweet potatoes and corn mixed, and mixed garden vegetables. Your favorites are still carrots and squash. I plan to start to give you solids twice a day very soon, I just have to figure out how. You won't eat fruits at all, you gag and I'm scared you're going to throw up, and it just doesn't seem right to feed you veggies for breakfast....? I have started giving you some finger foods and biter biscuits, and you seem to be interested in them... in fact, TOO interested. You want to BITE them instead of suck on them, and it freaks me out. I have a feeling you will like big people food MUCH better than you like little people food, and I can't wait to be able to feed you everything that I eat!

You are the happiest little baby I have ever seen, and everyone you meet seems to agree! You love to laugh and smile and giggle and scream, and you don't care where you are, or who is around. You scream at the top of your lungs a LOT, and I'm worried the neighbors aren't going to like us too much. You were also saying 'ma-ma' for about a week, all day long--daddy didn't like it too much and I think he bribed you or something because you don't say it anymore :o( You do love to laugh at daddy though, even if you didn't say 'da-da' first. He is the best at making you laugh, probably because he is so funny looking goofy ;o)

We started going to a new church this month and everyone brags about how good you are every Sunday. They say "that is the best baby in the world!" and "You wouldn't even know she was in there if you didn't see her, she is so good!". Probably because it's your nap time, but we won't tell them that ;o) You DID toot last week in church, but I think it was daddy and he just tried to blame you.

You are sitting up perfectly now, all the time. You hardly ever fall over unless you are chasing a toy. It's nice because I can sit you on the floor surrounded by 5,000 toys, and you will entertain yourself for quite some time so I can get things done! Sometimes I will come in the room and you will be 5 feet from where I sat you down, but not because you crawled! Nope, I think you will be a late crawler--I'm calling it now. You can roll though!

We are going home to North Carolina for the whole month of October to visit with your family, daddy is hoping you don't grow as fast as you did this last month or he may not recognize you when we come home. Your Grandma Jan is so excited to see you, she even has a walker for you so you can run all over the house--I can't wait!

What to blog about?

I want to blog everyday, I really do! But I don't have anything to blog about! It's just me and Paislee here all week by ourselves, and we really don't do anything worth blogging about! I clean, she plays, she cries, I rock her to sleep, she naps, I try to nap, she wakes up about the time I fall asleep and says "No way! You can't sleep!" Then I try to get out every day, even if its just a walk around the block. Yesterday we had another successful trip to Walmart. I was going to attempt to do the grocery store today but we had a bad night last night (probably one of the worst since she was born)...SOooooo..I don't think I will be attempting that today because I'm going to try to nap every chance that I get...and clean! Maybe tomorrow?

After this, unless we do something super exciting, I will probably be  MIA for another month :o( Jason's family is visiting all next week, and then I get on a plane and head back to NC for the whoollle month of October next Saturday.

Was this blog even worth writing? I'm getting super boring! haha!

OH what a night!

No sleep for me and very little for Paislee. She was up ALL NIGHT LONG, and I have no clue why?? She wasn't crying like she was in pain, but she did seem uncomfortable because she was a little whiny and fidgety...even when I got up to rock her she whined, letting me know it wasn't her just being a brat and clingy. I don't think its her teeth, she wasn't hungry, so I am narrowing it down to the new baby food she has been eating for the past two days. She was up some the first night I gave it to her but last night she was up ALL night....maybe it was bothering her tummy. So, no more sweet potatoes and corn for now. I've tried sweet potatoes alone, and she didn't like them but they didn't seem to bother her. So I bought a mixture of corn and sweet potatoes--and she seemed to LOVE it...go figure. We will try it again later, but for now its back to carrots and squash--her favorites!

This weekend Jason, Paislee and I will be making a trip down to Vermont, to meet up with some friends  that were stationed in Valdez with us! It will be a quick trip--just one day, we have to pick up the camper shell for Jason's truck--he let the guy use it to drive back across the country and it ended up working out well for both him and Jason--long story short :o)

Since everyone is getting into this collage thing for their blogs, I guess I will try to figure it out for mine--the blog layout I was using messed up for some reason and I have been meaning to spruce up my blog for a while and can't figure out what I want to do with it--any tips on how to jump on the photo collage bandwagon, Andrea, Monica & Paige? :o)

By the way, is anyone even reading this? I feel like no one even reads this anymore since I quit blogging for a while...am I just talking to myself?

I'm off to try to get Paislee to take a good long nap. She's taking a poop as I type so maybe her little tummy with let us her get some rest now ;o)

We did it!

I got brave yesterday and decided to go to Walmart, with Paislee, ALONE. I didn't really need anything, but I hate to just sit around the house all day long with her, and I feel like she isn't going to learn anything doing the same thing all day, every day. So I decided to get more diapers, you can never have too many, right? We got there and I parked close to the cart rack thing in the parking lot so I could grab a cart without having to get her out first. I got her shopping cart cover out and put it on--thank GOD for those things!

Hers has little toys on it, so it kept her entertained pretty well. She was still a little small for the cart, but WE MADE IT! I actually got to take my time and browse through Wal-mart without any meltdowns. We even checked out and made it home, with still--no MELTDOWNS! Woooo hoooo!

Maybe we will try the park again tomorrow if its pretty out!


On another note, I am still selling Scentsy, although business has slowed down A LOT! It's been a busy summer but I am trying to get back into the swing of things so Santa can be good to Paislee and Daddy this year ;o)
