8 Months

Happy Thanksgiving!

Paislee Marie, you are 8 months old today! You weigh 19.3 lbs, and you are 27.5 inches long. You are still wearing mostly 9 month clothes, most 12 months are too LONG! You are still in size 3 diapers.

Girl, you have been on the MOVE this month! You have gone from rolling, rolling, rolling to crawling! You started crawling on November 23rd, and now you are all over the place! The biggest surprise this month was you pulling yourself up to standing. You just decided you would do it one day, and surprised us! You are also STUBBORN as a mule. Where did you get that from?? You aren't eating solids very well anymore, and I'm starting to get a little concerned. I don't know if this is okay or not? I sit you down for lunch and dinner and at least TRY to get you to eat baby food, diced peaches, mandarin oranges--anything! You just don't care for it. Your naps have dwindled down to 2-3 times a day, 30 minutes a piece. Lucky me! This means a very fussy baby come bedtime. You fight sleep too, so bad! When I finally do get you to sleep at night, you usually sleep about 12 hours, so that's nice! You still wake up in the middle of the night to eat, but since you are sleeping with us (ahem), it's no big deal. You do have to get in your crib soon though. I am praying that the Lord will give me strength to do that. You have started getting very mad when we take things away from you. I know that is a normal milestone and a good sign of development, but it's hard not to worry that you are going to be very hard to get along with. I pray every day that you will be a sweet girl, and a very caring and selfless one too! What more could a mama ask for?

You talk a lot too! You say "ma-ma" "da-da" and "bye-bye". You also growl back at me when I growl at you. You are going to have such a personality! You have also started dancing and clapping your hands, which is my FAVORITE! I can't get enough of it! You dance most of the time when you hear music and you clap randomly and when I say "yayyyyyyy!!!!".

This month has been a tough month. For whatever reason you have been super cranky. At first I hoped it was teething just so you would have an excuse but you have shown NO signs of teething. I haven't been able to leave your side without you crying and you want to be held a lot. You have also developed a little attitude! When can we start the disciplining? If we don't start soon, I think we might have a little problem! ha! We still love you baby girl!

Ashley

It's that time again...

Time to pick out Christmas cards! We had planned to get our pictures taken this past Monday, but I figured that might not go so well with me having to wipe Paislee's nose every 0.5 seconds, so I cancelled and we have yet to get them taken. I am having the hardest time deciding what I want everyone to wear though. Anyone else have that problem? I think I am going to pick out our Christmas card design FIRST, and then dress accordingly. Is that stupid?

I think not. Especially when you can get 50 FREE Christmas cards from Shutterfly! That should give everyone an excuse to pick out a Christmas card and go get family Christmas pictures taken :O) Here is a link to Shutterfly's Christmas cards--

The Sick House

Yay! Everyone in the house is sick! It started Wednesday afternoon with Paislee and is ending (hopefully) with me waking up this morning with a sore throat. Jason was in the middle and I blame him for my sore throat. Paislee has been snotty all weekend and a little sneezy, but now she is starting to get a yucky cough that I am not very fond of. We may be taking her to the doctor first thing in the morning if she isn't showing signs of improvement.

Even though she is sick, she acts like she feels great! I think it bothers me more than it does her! She is SO CLOSE TO CRAWLING I can't even stress how CLOSE. She takes a 'step' on her knees and falls.

I don't really have much to say today, imagine that. Here is a video from today to show you how much our big girl is growing! Don't mind the video quality, not sure why its so bad? I tried to upload more but it wouldn't upload :o(

Alex's Visit

As some of you know, one of my BFF's from college--Alex, and her mom came up here for a visit this week. They flew up Thursday morning and left today. It was a short visit, but we did what we could and it was nice to be able to just hang out and catch up without being in a hurry! Thursday we just hung around the house and went to dinner at Outback--YUM!

Friday we had planned to take Alex and her mom to one of the lighthouses here in Portland (there are 52, I think, in Maine!), and we shopped downtown and went to the mall too! I asked Jason how many times he thought we would see this lighthouse since we would probably bring everyone that visits us in the next 2 years to it, haha. Here are some pics for your enjoyment!

After the lighthouse, we went to the mall shopping. Since Paislee was so good (and daddy too!) they were rewarded with a ride on the carousel. Paislee's first time! We also saw that they were making room for SANTA!!! Yay! Wonder how Paislee will like him? haha.

Jason is home until Monday, so we will be relaxing around the house until then! Have a great weekend everyone!

XOXO,
Ashley
