Funny things Paislee says....

Now that Paislee is talking quite a bit and doing and saying funny things, I thought it would be fun to write them down here so

1. I can remember them.
2. You can laugh.

These may be things that aren't funny to you. These may be things that are a little embarrassing to me. That's why I am not putting them on Facebook, and here instead. If you read my blog, you love me for who I am--right? HeHe :) I just have one for today, and it's short and sweet but totally woke me up and cracked me up first thing this morning....

As you know, Paislee sleeps with us still. I just sleep in a sports bra because it's comfortable and let's face it: I don't like clothes all that much. Paislee always wakes up talking in the middle of the night and first thing in the morning. I like it because it tells me what she dreamt about ;) She has sat up dead asleep, eyes closed and said "Mow!" (Meow!). She woke up once saying and signing "Bath!". This morning, she rolled over, pointed to my boobies and said "What's that? Ball?!".

Not that my boobs are perfectly shaped "balls". I gave up on that dream mid-pregnancy. EVERYTHING is a ball. Balls are balls, balloons are balls, cameras on the ceilings at Sam's Club are balls--they are, peas are balls--that's how I get her to eat them. You get the idea. Anything shaped like a ball IS a ball. We have a BALL (haha) in the produce section at the grocery store. Cantaloupes, oranges, lemons, limes, avocados, tomatoes, onions, apples, etc. Ball! Ball! Ball! Needless to say, Paislee loves grocery shopping!

So with that said, what do I tell her my boobies are? Balls? Boobies? The dreaded word "Breasts"? That word is way too mature for me. Boobies are fine with me, I just worry she will say it in the middle of church or somewhere else important. She is still breast feeding (Yes, I realize she is almost one, yes we are trying to wean her, no it is not easy taking what she loves away from her. Please don't judge me.) So I'm not sure if I want her saying "Boobies" when she wants to eat.......have I mentioned lately that this parenting thing is SUPER hard?

Any advice is welcome! Happy Hump Day! Paislee's birthday invitations are here and they are super cute, I am waiting to send them out and then I will post a picture here :)

Paislee's 1st Valentine's Day

I know, I haven't done this for any other holiday and I pick the most important (not) to post a blog like this. Oh well, this is the first V-day I have spent with Jason since....oh I dunno....ever? So I'm feeling a little mushy even though I normally hate this holiday. Plus, he got me an edible arrangement--something I have wanted for oh....forever!!

Happy Valentine's / Single's Awareness Day!

Absolutely LOVE this face. Isn't it the cutest?

Really getting into photo editing....kinda want to start my own photography business....I know, big dreams :)
Yummmmmy!

XOXO--especially today!

Oh, I forgot I had a blog....

Hello Everyone :)

If there is anyone still out there?

Man, life can get busy. Not that that is my excuse for not blogging. I have a lot of time on my hands since I stay at home all day, every day. I just don't have any time for myself.  And when I do have time for myself, I eat, do laundry, use the bathroom, shower, and occasionally get ready. And all usually with a baby hanging on my legs. And since that is all I ever do, I don't have anything exciting to blog about! Hence my absence from the blogging world. I guess I could blog about Christmas, but everyone already knows what we did for Christmas, so that might be boring :)

I am in the beginning stages of planning Paislee's very first birthday party, and I am so excited. I am going to go ALL out. At least as much as possible. We are having her party at my mom's house, so I can't invite 5,000 people like I would like to. And we are not rolling and the dough so I can't buy everything that I want to, but I sure am going to come as close as possible :) This is a big occasion, not just for Paislee but for Jason and I as well. We made it through the first year without any major happenings!

We had a baby in Alaska--I know, you people are wondering "HOW did she have a baby in Alaska? They don't have hospitals, all the have are igloos, etc, etc." After that, Paislee and I flew from Alaska to NC when she was 3 months old, Jason drove from Alaska to NC--all with no major happenings, which I am very thankful for! THEN, we moved to Maine. Again, with no major happenings. We moved into a new house, visited NC, joined a fabulous new church and met some wonderful friends that we can call family while we are here in Maine. We survived a long 4 month separation from Jason, and went home for Christmas-which we didn't get to do last year. We have made 3, 13 hour trips from NC to ME with Paislee, and no meltdowns. Now that, is a miracle. Paislee cut her first tooth and is now working on another. She is crawling everywhere, and pulling up and standing by herself and trying her hardest to figure out the next big thing--walking. Lord help us. All of this with no trips to the hospital, and no therapy. AND we all still love each other :).

I would definitely say that this is cause for a celebration. And a big one. Paislee has (almost) made it through her first year, and so have Jason and I. It has definitely been a tough year, but I am so thankful for everything that I have. The military life isn't always easy, I don't see my husband as often as I would like and he isn't around for Paislee has often as I would like. BUT, he is a wonderful husband and I wouldn't trade what we have for anything. Not even a house on the beach in NC. Yeah. I love him a lot :) We are lucky to be able to see the country and meet new, wonderful friends every time we move.

So here is to a new year. I hope it is just as good as last year, but much less busy so we can enjoy Maine, and each other before 2012, when it all happens again-a big move. I will post little things here and there (or at least I say that now, it probably won't happen and you will probably just hear from me every month on the 25th, Paislee's b-day, ha!) about Paislee's birthday planning. I have already done quite a bit of planning but I don't want to post it all because I want some surprises for the big day and Paislee likes to read my blog so. I guess those of you who will be there will just have to wait until the big day, and those who won't will have to wait until I have time to post after her 1st birthday. You will probably be waiting a while. Happy New Year!

6 Months

Paislee Marie, you are SIX months old today!

I never thought I would make it this far alive, ha! In the beginning, everyone was just telling me to get through the first 3 months and everything would be okay, and it was! And since then, the months have FLOWN by! I can barely keep up!

You weigh 18.6 lbs, and you are still wearing a size 2 diaper, although I have started buying size 3 because they are much easier to get on your squirmy booty ;o) You are wearing mostly size 9 month clothes, but you can wear some 12 months too!

Your sleeping habits were GREAT there for about a week... and then they got all outta whack! You were sleeping a solid 12 hours at night for a week or so, now you go to bed anywhere between 7-10 at night, but no matter what-you are up and at em' at 7 a.m...... and I don't like it! What happened to the 12 hour thing? If you go to bed at 10, do me a favor and get up at 10, will ya? Mama needs some sleep! You are still taking 2-3 naps a day, ranging anywhere from 30 minutes a piece, up to 3 hours! (Usually 45 minutes though).
You love sitting in your highchair to play!

You are still breast feeding, and would prefer to eat every 2 hours, but you can go about 4 hours without eating before you get really grumpy! You like to nurse to sleep as well, but I don't count that, because it's a bad habit and it's all my fault, that we have to stop!.... not everyone can nurse you to sleep, which means you give anyone that isn't mommy a hard time when they try to put you to sleep. Oops! You are still only eating 1 solid meal a day, at supper time, and it's always a vegetable. Your new vegetables this month were sweet potatoes and corn mixed, and mixed garden vegetables. Your favorites are still carrots and squash. I plan to start to give you solids twice a day very soon, I just have to figure out how. You won't eat fruits at all, you gag and I'm scared you're going to throw up, and it just doesn't seem right to feed you veggies for breakfast....? I have started giving you some finger foods and biter biscuits, and you seem to be interested in them... in fact, TOO interested. You want to BITE them instead of suck on them, and it freaks me out. I have a feeling you will like big people food MUCH better than you like little people food, and I can't wait to be able to feed you everything that I eat!

You are the happiest little baby I have ever seen, and everyone you meet seems to agree! You love to laugh and smile and giggle and scream, and you don't care where you are, or who is around. You scream at the top of your lungs a LOT, and I'm worried the neighbors aren't going to like us too much. You were also saying 'ma-ma' for about a week, all day long--daddy didn't like it too much and I think he bribed you or something because you don't say it anymore :o( You do love to laugh at daddy though, even if you didn't say 'da-da' first. He is the best at making you laugh, probably because he is so funny looking goofy ;o)

We started going to a new church this month and everyone brags about how good you are every Sunday. They say "that is the best baby in the world!" and "You wouldn't even know she was in there if you didn't see her, she is so good!". Probably because it's your nap time, but we won't tell them that ;o) You DID toot last week in church, but I think it was daddy and he just tried to blame you.

Ready for church!

You are sitting up perfectly now, all the time. You hardly ever fall over unless you are chasing a toy. It's nice because I can sit you on the floor surrounded by 5,000 toys, and you will entertain yourself for quite some time so I can get things done! Sometimes I will come in the room and you will be 5 feet from where I sat you down, but not because you crawled! Nope, I think you will be a late crawler--I'm calling it now. You can roll though!

We are going home to North Carolina for the whole month of October to visit with your family, daddy is hoping you don't grow as fast as you did this last month or he may not recognize you when we come home. Your Grandma Jan is so excited to see you, she even has a walker for you so you can run all over the house--I can't wait!

Happy half-a-year birthday!
WE love you little girl! You bring so much happiness into our lives every day, and we don't know how we ever lived without you!

Back to Blogging!

Lets see if I can get back into this blogging thing that I love so much, now that things have FINALLY settled down!

Jason and I have been wanting to get into a church together for a while now (since we lived in Alaska). We went one time in Alaska during the last month of my pregnancy, yes, it took us THAT long to go, so we decided to stop making excuses and just GO. I looked up a few churches in the area online, and decided on a baptist church here in Falmouth. The devil was working against us this morning, trying his hardest to keep us from getting there, but we FINALLY made it! The church looked like a big church on its website, but when we pulled in and saw about 10 parking spaces, we ALMOST decided to leave, ha! Jason talked me into going in, and I'm glad that he did. Everyone was VERY friendly. I was worried that Paislee would throw a fit in the middle of the service, but I am not QUITE ready to hand her over to a stranger in the nursery so I decided to give her a chance in church. She was WONDERFUL! She didn't make a peep, and even slept a little during the loud sermon. Afterwards, we had some snacks in the fellowship hall, something they do EVERY Sunday, and came home and had lunch....and took some pictures of Paislee's first day of church :o)

Here are her 3 and 4 month pictures:

and one in her "I was born in Valdez, Alaska" t-shirt:

AND a video of Gorilla Daddy for your enjoyment :o)
Shhh....don't tell him I put that up ;o)

5 Months--Oops! Late!

So so sorry Miss Paislee! I am a little late posting your 5 month birthday blog! It has obviously been a super busy summer, and I feel really guilty that this is late, but all that matters is that I am still posting :o) Right?

Paislee, I'm not too sure how much you weigh right now, because we are living in a hotel room right now and I don't have a scale, but I am guessing between 16-17 lbs! I won't even try to guess how long you are, because I really don't have a clue--but you are growing like a little weed! You have almost outgrown all of your 6 month clothes, and you are now wearing 9 month and even 12 month clothes. I am hoping that you will wear 9 months through the fall, and 12 months through the winter (because that's what I have been buying). You are still wearing size 2 diapers, but I have a feeling that this last box I just bought will probably be the last of that size! Please stop growing so fast, it makes me so sad to pack up your clothes. I just hope I can give you a little sister one day, so you can not only boss her around and play school with her, but to also pass down all of your SWEET clothes to since you didn't wear them enough ;o)

You have changed SO much in the past month. It is doing you so much good to be around different people every day, a HUGE change from when we lived in Alaska and all you ever saw was me and daddy. You are developing a sweet little personality, and you are such a happy baby! You love to squeal and laugh--a LOT! You are also starting to yap yap yap--move your mouth a LOT when you talk, I LOVE IT!

You have recently started drinking water, which you love (like mama). You first started opening your mouth and reaching for my cup when you saw me drinking it, now you get excited and just about jump out of my arms when you see me pick up a cup. You even drink from a straw--you don't suck it up the straw, but I get some in the straw and put it in your mouth--you love it and would drink it all day if I would let you! (Edit: I have been working on this post in my free time over the past week--yesterday, we went to lunch at Longhorn Steakhouse, and I just put the straw in her mouth for laughs, and she slurped the water up the straw!!! I screamed because it scared me, I didn't expect it, and she got a big ol' mouthful and wasn't expecting it herself, ha!)

You are getting better every day with your solids. You have had: bananas, sweet potatoes, carrots, apples, green beans, peaches and squash. Your favorite is green beans, by far! You LOVE them! Next I think we will try peas since you seem to like your greens (tried them earlier this week--not a success. Neither were the peaches) You still only eat solids once a day, before your nightly bath. I'm not too sure when I'm supposed to give you solids twice a day? I'm new at this parenting thing ;o)

You are now sitting by yourself! I think its a little early for you to be sitting?? You have fallen forward and bumped your head a few times, but now you are staying up for the most part! You are also rolling over both ways, but mostly from your back to your tummy. When you are on your tummy you pull your feet up under your knees, and it makes me cringe, because I know that you will be crawling VERY soon and I am not quite ready for that! Time to baby proof!

We are NOW in our new home, living in Falmouth, Maine. We have a 2 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom townhouse. Your nursery is in the study for now, it isn't very big, but big enough for all of your furniture. We wanted to leave the spare bedroom open, since we are living so close to 'home' now, we are expecting lots and LOTS of visitors ;o).

We haven't been posting your monthly pictures on the blog, pointing it out in case you haven't noticed. Our card reader broke and we haven't had a chance to get a new one yet. We have been taking the monthly pictures still, and hope to get them all uploaded before your 1st birthday! :o)

We love you little girl, more and more everyday!

4 months

Paislee Marie, you are four months old today!

I can't believe how fast you are growing! You weigh 15 pounds, and you are 25 inches long. You are wearing size 2 diapers, and mostly 6 month clothes.

As you (and everyone else) may have noticed, there isn't much time to blog these days! You keep me busy busy! We are in the middle of moving from Alaska to Maine, and right now we are in North Carolina meeting and visiting family. I promise I'll blog more when you let me!

I am loving your little personality more and more everyday! You are such a happy little girl! As long as everything is going exactly how you want it to go ;0). You are starting to laugh and squeal a lot, it is so stinkin' cute! I think you were getting tired of seeing just me and daddy everyday. You seem to be learning much faster now that you meet someone new almost everyday.

You are now eating a few solids almost everyday. We started you at the beginning of the month on a little bit of cereal mixed with milk every few days because you started acting super hungry...I think it was a growth spurt because now you seem perfectly satisfied with just milk. We are still giving you cereal every night before bathtime, just to get you used to solids, and we even started mixing bananas in. You have also tried sweet potatoes and carrots. You don't seem to be interested though, mommy is still your best bud for now :0) Don't worry, I'm gonna take advantage for as long as I can! Speaking of, you still won't take a bottle! I don't think it's because you don't know how, I think it's because you don't want to! You are a stubborn little turd! We are now starting to work with you and a sippy cup, maybe you will take that instead? We are hoping you give in soon, we would like to take an overnight trip for our anniversary in a few weeks....please?? You have recently started taking a pacifier so we are hoping that will lead to a bottle soon!

You are getting better at not being held 24/7. You play on your little play mat, in your exersaucer, and most recently in your new jumperoo (you love it!). You love laying on your back and holding your feet! I've even caught you sucking your toes a few times, ha! I love watching you hold your feet, it's too cute!
You are also sitting very well, with a little help, and standing with help too! Over the last few days you have even been reaching for cups and opening your mouth to drink from them.

Today we went to the pool for the first time and you loved it! Looks like we have a little water baby on our hands!

Your sleeping habits are getting pretty regular now. You are asleep every night usually by 9, and you are only waking up once between then and 7am when you wake up :0) You take two naps a day, in the morning and afternoon, usually 2-3 hours each. You are finally letting us put you down to sleep, so now it's time to work on getting you in the crib!

You are growing so fast, I can't believe it. I'm so thankful your daddy works hard so I can stay home with you and not miss anything. We love you so much, more and more everyday, and can't wait to see all of the new things you learn over the next month!

XOXO,
Ashley

2 Months

Paislee Marie, you are 2 months old today! Time is flying by so fast I can't believe it! You weigh 12 lbs. even, and are 23 inches long. You are already wearing size 2 diapers! They are a little big on you, but we like em that way! You are still wearing mostly size 0-3 months clothes, 3-6 months are a little big on you!

You are still eating every 2 hours, but sometimes you will go 3 hours during the day when you have a long nap. You usually wake up around 3 a.m. for a feeding, and then again between 6 and 7. They say that breast feeding babies usually don't sleep through the night until they are sometimes 6 months old!

You still sleep a lot during the day. Most days you nap, wake up to eat and go right back to sleep. You usually come around between 4 and 6, and are awake for most of the night until 10 or 11. I know, I'm bad for letting you stay up so late.

You get a bath every night, usually no later than 7. You LOVE bath time! You're my little water baby! You just sit and relax while I wash you, and we always listen to music, which you love. You prefer the music on my iPod over nursery rhymes and lullabies :o) I downloaded some kids music for you, but you seem to like my country and pop MUCH better!

You will sit in your swing sometimes so I can get things done around the house,  but you like to keep me in your sight! You also like to listen to my music while you sit in your swing! Loud noises don't bother you, in fact, I think you prefer them! You sleep right through the vacuum!

You are getting used to your car seat, so trips to town are getting less painful (for mommy!). We always make sure you are fast asleep before we go to the grocery store though! We keep you in your car seat, and completely covered while we are in the grocery store (trying to keep people germs away from you), but that doesn't stop people from hovering and wanting to see you! The other day a woman came over and said "She is SO FREAKING CUTE!!!!" Daddy and I said "We know" thank you :o)

You are starting to coo a lot and talk to me. I love it! I try to catch you on video, but you seem to be camera shy you little turd! I did catch you last night on camera, with your new found love--your hand in your mouth! You are finally figuring out how to suck on them fingers, you've been trying since the day you were born!

We are having one problem--you sleep with us, and there is no end in sight. I know, I should have never let you in the bed with us, but that's what happens when Mommy is desperate for sleep! Now, you have to be RIGHT on me, probably smelling my morning breath! If I get up, you open your eyes to see what's going on...what am I going to do with you???? I'm afraid Daddy is going to get rid of us if something doesn't change SOON!

You are growing too fast little girl, I wish you would slow down! I don't care what people say, I'm going to hold you all I want, because now I'm realizing that you really won't be like this much longer and I'm going to miss it! We can't wait to get home so we can show you off to your family and our friends!

**I am going to wait on your 2 month pictures since your perfectionist daddy is gone this week and he won't be satisfied with anything short of perfect ;o) We love you very much, more and more every day! I can't wait to see how much (not too much!) you grow this next month, and all of the new things you will learn!

Cute Stuff

The gifts are getting cuter and cuter!

Last week was a great week! If you didn't know, there is no shopping to be done in this town. So my guilty pleasure is Internet shopping and packages. That daily trip to the post office just makes my day, or ruins it if we miss a day! Last week we got lots of good stuff!

Jason's sister sent Paislee a bathing suit and cover up for this summer, and also a SUPER CUTE diaper bag! THANK YOU Aunt Amber, we LOVE it!

We also got a package from one of my sorority sisters, Berrin--who is IMPOSSIBLE to reach if you don't have her phone number! Berrin DOES read my blog though and I just want her to know that WE LOVE the outfit that she sent for Miss Paislee, it is my absolute FAVORITE outfit hanging in Paislee's HUGE, jam packed closet. Even Jason loves it, we have been looking for the perfect little 'sailor' outfit and you found it! Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! This picture does it no justice, thanks to my killer photography skills:
I cannot WAIT to put her in it and take a picture of her and her Daddy on his boat :o)

Yesterday we started tummy time with Paislee. She seemed to L-O-V-E it (man, that word appears a lot in this blog post!). She is looking more and more like her Mama everyday, I can't wait to get lots of my baby pictures and post them, it is CRAZY how much she looks like I did when I was a baby. Funny thing is, I didn't think I was that cute as a baby--until now :o)

Paislee LOVES bathtime here lately. She just chillaxes, and kicks back and lounges in her little bath tub. It's the cutest thing. I try to give her a bath before bed every night, although it doesn't happen every night I have good intentions, I promise! Jason and I are finally getting things figured out with bath time--put the towel in the dryer so its warm when she gets out, wash her hair last so she isn't cold through her whole bath, pour warm water on her all through her bath, massage her with baby oil, etc.... I think it really relaxes her and gets her nice and ready for bed :o)

Lately, she has been adopting MY sleeping habits from when I was pregnant. For the past 2 nights she hasn't gone to sleep until after midnight, and sleeps until the early morning, and then I put her in the bed and snuggle with her and she goes BACK to sleep until about 10 or 11--it's NICE!

She sleeps most of the day, and is awake most of the evening from about 5 until bedtime, with a few short naps in between. So in case you were wondering, HOW is she finding the time to write this long blog post with all of these pictures?? Here's how:
She is fast asleep in her swing as I type this :o)

We have made a lot of progress since last week when I couldn't put her down! Still, I'm sure a few months from now I would give anything for her to want me to hold her all day, everyday, so I am still going to take advantage of that for as long as I can, it won't be like this for long!

Off to work on the baby book and write 'thank you' cards. Hope everyone is having a great week so far! The snow is almost all melted and it is 55 degrees outside today!

Please keep all of the people in Tennessee in your thoughts and prayers. I follow a lot of blogs of girls from Nashville, and to see what that town is going through right now is horrifying and makes me want to cry. Please take a minute when you read this and say a prayer for them, they truly need it right now!

Playdate

Last Saturday Paislee had her very first playdate! My friend Lauralee brought her sweet little girl, Gabby, over for a visit. Gabby is a bit older than Paislee, so while Paislee was busy napping, Gabby was crawling around giving me a taste of what Paislee will be doing before too long! Sadly, we didn't get any pictures of the girls together, maybe next time! I did get one of Lauralee and Paislee, you never know when we will run into each other again and Lauralee can tell Paislee "I held you when you were just a littttle baby!!", and we will have pictures to prove it! Lauralee and her family will be moving to the east coast this summer, so hopefully we will be able to meet up in a few months for a real playdate and the girls can get into everything together :o)

Wordless Wednesday--100th Post!

Paislee was sitting in her bouncy seat the other day, and Jason and I were behind her on the couch. Her bouncy seat has a little bar over it with little rattles and a mirror hanging down, and this is what we could see sitting on the couch...
I could EAT HER UP!!! Look at those cheeks!

This is my 100th post, woo hoo! Movin on up in the blog world! Okay, gotta keep this short or I can't call it Wordless Wednesday!

Happy Hump Day!

XOXO,
