Playdate

Last Saturday Paislee had her very first playdate! My friend Lauralee brought her sweet little girl, Gabby, over for a visit. Gabby is a bit older than Paislee, so while Paislee was busy napping, Gabby was crawling around giving me a taste of what Paislee will be doing before too long! Sadly, we didn't get any pictures of the girls together, maybe next time! I did get one of Lauralee and Paislee, you never know when we will run into each other again and Lauralee can tell Paislee "I held you when you were just a littttle baby!!", and we will have pictures to prove it! Lauralee and her family will be moving to the east coast this summer, so hopefully we will be able to meet up in a few months for a real playdate and the girls can get into everything together :o)

Wordless Wednesday--100th Post!

Paislee was sitting in her bouncy seat the other day, and Jason and I were behind her on the couch. Her bouncy seat has a little bar over it with little rattles and a mirror hanging down, and this is what we could see sitting on the couch...
I could EAT HER UP!!! Look at those cheeks!

This is my 100th post, woo hoo! Movin on up in the blog world! Okay, gotta keep this short or I can't call it Wordless Wednesday!

Happy Hump Day!

Who's that baby?

My mom sent this picture this morning of me as a newborn...

I think Miss Paislee looks like her mama ;0) This picture was taken with a phone so it's blurry, I need to find a better one. I showed Jason the picture and he thought it was one I had just taken of her :0)

1 Month

Paislee Marie, you are 1 month old today.
You weigh around  11 lbs. and are 22 in. long.

Look at Sesi, ha!

You have been a little diva angel these past few weeks!
You already have me wrapped around your finger. Big time. I hate to hear you cry and pick you up the minute that you start.

You have good days and bad days, and they usually alternate from day to day.

On your good days, you sleep almost all day long, and all night long. When I say that you sleep all night long, that means you sleep from about 11-12 until 4-5, making me one happy Mama! It's amazing how well rested I feel after more than 3 straight hours of sleep!

On your bad days, you are awake almost all day long, and by the end of the day you are exhausted. You are fighting sleep by this point and usually spend hours fussing, making me wonder if you are hungry, gassy, sick, hot, cold, constipated, etc. and sometimes I end up crying with you before it's all said and done.

Whether we have had a bad night or a good night, either way you wake up just as happy as can be. Mornings are my favorite time of the day, I guess that's why I don't mind getting up so early! You are so content in the mornings, sometimes I will bring you in the bed with me and snuggle with you while you grunt and groan trying to wake up. When you finally do wake up you give me this look like I am your best friend in the whole wide world and it melts my heart every single time.

Bath time is usually pretty good for you. I am still giving you sponge baths the majority of the time, but you get a bath in your bathtub 1-2 times a week too. You seem to like your bathtub, you just lounge in the warm water (and sometimes pee in it!) Either way, you do not like when it's time to wash your hair. You cry every time. Too bad though, Mama ain't having a stinky baby :o)

You are eating every 1-2 hours. We are still breastfeeding, and sometimes I pump and give you a bottle, just because I am curious to see how much you are eating. Once it was 4 oz, another time it was 2 oz, so it still isn't 100% clear how much you are getting at every feeding, but it is 100% clear that you are a HEALTHY baby :o)

You're a messy eater! This is what you look like after most feedings :o)

You only poop about once a week, and this really bothers me! The doctor said it was okay, and normal but I really don't like it. I think it makes you extra gassy, and EXTRA stinky! You can clear out a room with your man farts :o) Sometimes I even have to ask your Daddy if that poot was you or him because it's kinda hard to tell, ha!

You have a fussy time most nights, usually anywhere between 6 and 8, and you are pretty inconsolable. It's pretty nerve racking, but we get through it and eventually you fall asleep.

You are smiling more and more every day and I loooove it :o) You have such a pretty smile! Mostly you smile when someone talks to you, and you also smiled the other day when I was tickling your feet with my teeth, you have stinky feet already :o)
You have your daddy's long eyelashes, and his mouth. I can't figure out what is mine yet, but you got your chubby cheeks honestly--from both of us!

You are quite a handful. Literally. You like to be held a LOT. If it were up to you, which it pretty much is at this point, you would be held all day long, and you pretty much are. I can put you in your bassinet or your swing and you will sleep for 10-15 minutes, but then you are grunting and eventually crying to be picked up. Luckily, we have a Baby Bjorn and I can put you in that and you love it. You will sleep for hours in it, pretty much until I wake you up because I'm worried you will sweat to death, but its the only way I can get anything done!

Naptime with Daddy is your favorite!

You went on your first road trip this month. We went to Anchorage for a shopping trip, You, Me, Daddy & Grandma Jan. You did very good during the day, sleeping most of the day and waking up for feedings every two hours, but this is when we discovered your fussy time. I think you were just tired of being in the carseat all day. We hope you continue to be a good little traveler, we have a big road trip planned for you in a few months, missy!

Here you are laying in the bed during your first stay at a hotel!

The mohawk is your hairstyle of choice these days
You're a very pretty girl!

Our lives have changed a LOT this month! You are a lot of work, and require lots and lots of attention, but you are worth it! We love you very much and cannot wait to watch you grow more and more every month, but not too fast!

Disclaimer: I know this is a day late, and yesterday was actually Paislee's '1 month Birthday'--a great example of how life with a newborn is, you never know what you're gonna get! I actually had this typed up yesterday, but wanted to wait until I could take her 1 month picture. I had very good intentions and meant to take it today, but its hard when you don't want to wake her up because she is sleeping so well, and then she gets fussy towards the end of the day so you can't get a good picture then, and by the end of the night its bathtime and bedtime--maybe tomorrow!

XOXO,

My.Back.Hurts.

I haven't been able to put this spoiled sweet child of mine down this week. She seriously has been held almost every second of every day this week. I really have tried to put her down, make her sleep in her bassinet, put her in her swing, lay her on the couch, etc. she just won't let me. I tried to let her cry for about 2 minutes, yes thats all that I lasted and I just couldn't take it anymore. Yesterday I discovered the Baby Bjorn tucked away and decided to give it a try. She loves it. So now I can get stuff done, with a big, 10 pound baby attached to my chest (as if I didn't have 2 other babies attached to my chest, and as if THEY weren't big enough). I have a feeling I will pay big time for this, but I am desperate to get things done around this house and to get a nap during the day (sleeping in the recliner with her on my chest). My back is killing meeeee......We are ready for daddy to get home!!!!!! Mama needs a good nights sleep, a haircut, pedicure, manicure and a cocktail! Let Jason know, please--my first Mother's Day is coming up ;o)

We received Paislee's birth announcements earlier this week and I have finally gotten them all addressed and half mailed out, the other half will go out when Jason gets back and gets to the post office to mail them out, I am confined to the house in fear of putting Paislee BACK in the carseat and listening to her scream the whole way into town, again. Anyways, the birth announcements are SUPER cute, and I can't wait for everyone to see them! I will post a copy up here once I think most have them have reached their recipients, I want it to be a surprise :o) I had them made here.

Valdez is looking better and better everyday, we can see grass in our front yard! Woo hoooooo! I never want to see snow again, ever ever ever.....I am ready for warm, sunny days, cookouts, walks, and having the sun out until midnight so I'm not scared on the nights that Jason isn't here :o)

We hope everyone has a great weekend!
XOXO,

Jealous much?

This is what happens when anyone holds Paislee...
